Draft — pending editorial and legal review

Publication standards

How we choose, review, label, and correct case stories.

Review before publication

Every story is reviewed and approved by a Result.law editor before it is published. Commercial relationships never skip that step: a firm that pays for inquiries goes through the same review as one that doesn’t.

Outcomes are labeled precisely

We don’t treat these as interchangeable, and each story says which one applies:

  • Settlement
  • Jury verdict
  • Judgment
  • Money recovered
  • Amount claimed (not awarded)
  • Non-monetary outcome
  • Case dismissed
  • Other outcome

A jury verdict can be reduced or overturned on appeal; an amount claimed is not an amount awarded; a settlement total may include fees and costs. Each story notes whether the outcome is final, still appealable, or under appeal.

How each story was checked

Each story shows one of these review levels:

  • Not independently reviewed
  • Details provided and attested by the firm
  • Supporting documents reviewed by Result.law
  • Confirmed against public court records
  • Partially reviewed — see limitations

Where public sources exist, we link them. Some supporting documents are reviewed privately and are not published.

Rotation

The front page rotates among published stories so that different firms and practice areas are seen. Rotation never changes a story’s content or its original publication date.

Corrections

If something in a story is wrong, contact us. We correct errors promptly and keep a record of every change.
